Imagine a teen coming to OVC with arms crossed, not speaking, not making eye contact, closed off...and leaving 40 minutes later with a smile, a bag of clothes, an art set, and a handful of books, saying, "I actually like it here!"
Imagine a grandma walking in to OVC overwhelmed, close to tears, and explaining she just found out about a grandson who is a newborn. She has been asked to care for him, but she has nothing for a baby anymore. She leaves an hour later with a car full of supplies, a hug for each of us, a grateful smile, a newfound hope while saying, "I'll be back new friends!"
We have the joy and opportunity to make these connections every week, and hundreds of time a month at the OVC Resource Center.
